It strikes us when we least expect it like a bolt from the blue, it’s the mental equivalent of being struck by lightening. However only more random, as it is depending solely on your state of mind, for example as I write this I am in a night club where I am supposed to be having the time of my life and yet I am trapped in my thoughts, writing this on my iPhone.
My mind is trapped in an uncontrollable torrent of thoughts. A mental tsunami, a flood of mental images that come from my past. Of roads not taken, past mistakes, past errors, current mistakes and many more things I wish I had done when it could mattered for me to do them. Along with many other things that I wish were in my control.
However, it is times such as this, when your mind is allowed to think and the body allowed to feel. Which is when inspirational thoughts will come to you. Be it times of ultimate highs or lows, why? This I don’t know, nor do I think we can ever know, we can just ride the wave and let it take us where it will.
Inspiration is so random it can hit us when we least expect it; when we are in the shower, walking down the street, looking into the eyes of a loved one or doing something so simple as our grocery shopping. Then we have two options: 1, Do something about it or 2, do nothing and let that spark burn out. All I can say don’t think about it when you’re lucky enough to be struck by a bolt of inspiration. Don’t let it phase out of existence, grab it with both hands don’t be idle just see where it takes you.
This leads me back to the times in my life when I didn’t do that hence why I give you this adivce. Life is much to short to be idle and to see potenitally great ideas flicker out because you got scared to see them through.
